Road Trip

Went for a country drive and to visit some yarn stores.  Stopped in at Janie H. Knits, enjoyed a chat and visit in this lovely store in Perth Ontario.  Left with a few goodies.
Next stop was to visit my friend Kelly at Just Knitting  in Carleton Place.  I finally bought the book Textured Stitches.  I love Connie Chang Chinchio's designs.  And I love visiting Kelly :)
And it was such a beautiful day I had to stop in for a beer at a pub on the water.

mmmmm day I will own a ball
Natalie Servant has her very own Binder at Janie H. Knits! You go girl!
That day the animals were rolling in the dirt and soaking up the sun
my loot!  baby alpaca laceweight, a purple silk bag to hold my sock projects, a Kaffe  bag to carry more wool in ;) and the much coveted Textured Stitches

I have always loved photography. I still have my Nikon SLR packed away in case I want to play with film again one day.  I do love the freedom of a digital camera though.
One of my favourite photographers is Tim Walker.

This was the first picture of his that I saw and it filled me with delight.  Take a look at his website and enjoy .

Have a great weekend everyone :)

I have a new item in my Etsy shop !  My son created this ear cuff from a desire to purchase one.  He couldn't find exactly what he wanted so he designed and created his own.  I love it !

I was asked to make some larger flowers.

Such a pleasing composition.  The pin cushion once belonged to my  Grandmother.

One of the finished flowers
There is so much to be thankful for.  Today was like a spring day. The birds were out, the sun was shining, the kids were at school, and I got to make some more flowers.  When I gathered all I needed to make the flowers I was amazed at the beauty of the colours and textures.  It was a great day indeed. I love colour, and soon the neighborhood will be blooming.

This may be my favourite shawl yet.  Knit it in red and the clover will look like hearts.
I love the way it sits on my shoulders
tie it or fling it over your shoulder
Congratulations Natalie!  I can't wait to knit one up for myself ;)
