Anne Blayney

Saturday,  Anne Blayney of Jane Austen Knits, visited Yarn Forward with Natalie Servant. Natalie found out that Anne was going to be in Ottawa on business through twitter and invited her to visit her LYS.  It was such a treat to have her visit, I must admit to being a little star struck. Anne's design, Chawton Mittens, was admittedly my favourite item in the magazine. I love knitting mittens and the cameo effect is brilliant and elegant .  I asked her to sign my copy and she smiled and told me that was her very first autograph.

Natalie Servant of dropped by with a birthday gift for me!

An acorn spindle made by Ann Grout from  so cute , so lovely I am excited to learn how to use it!  It spins forever, what an amazing design.
The funny story is that Natalie told me that she wanted me to have it for Christmas but it was delayed in the mail.  Apparently this little spindle made its way from the U.S. to Zimbabwe then to Canada.  This little spindle had quite a big adventure!
Thank you Natalie <3

I just got a lightbox.  I am hoping to get better pictures for my etsy shop and my blog. I set up the lightbox, took my old tripod , attached the camera and took it all for a test run.
The nice thing is that the lightbox folds up into a little box, which is convenient when living in a small space.
New toys are fun :)

Storage Solution

I admit that I  have a problem throwing things out.  So when the Chinese food I ordered on New Years day came in sturdy little plastic containers how could I throw them in the recycle bin?   They were sturdy , stacked on top of each other , and had see through lids.  I saw a storage solution in these containers.

Now I have a home for all of my seed beads!  I find that I am a visual person and need to have the ability to see into my containers to know what's in them . Perfect !  Maybe I should order some more beef and broccoli for the rest of my beads to live in ?  ;)
